Frisch aus dem Urlaub.

So, ein herrlicher Urlaub auf der wohl schönsten aller europäischen Inseln liegt nun eine Woche hinter mir. Viel gesehen, perfektes Wetter und totale Entspannung haben mal richtig gut getan. Zu allem Überfluss sind wir jetzt auch noch eine Woche kinderlos zu Hause, was einen ganz anderen Lebensablauf zur Folge hat. Wirklich eine schöne Abwechslung.
Was denke ich mir also so, frisch erholt aus dem Urlaub? Natürlich kräftig in die Hände spucken und auf auf ans Werk. Das Projekt der Firma live bringen (hierzu werde ich wohl auch nochmal etwas schreiben), mein fiessbook an den Start bringen (da fehlt ja noch einiges an Grafik und finalen Einstellungen) und dann hat mich doch da letztens tatsächlich noch ein alter Kumpel angetextet und um Unterstützung gebeten...
Und so tauche ich auf einmal wieder irgendwie im virtuellen Motorsport auf. Team Redline ist der Name und nicht minder als das wohl beste Team seit locker 10 Jahren auf den virtuellen Rennstrecken dieser Welt. Wer jetzt denkt, der alte Mann macht hier doch jetzt (hoffentlich) nicht einen auf Schumacher, liegt auch nicht falsch. Ich werde das Team im Management unterstützen und mal schauen, was da so geht. Interessante Zeiten liegen vor der Simracing und Online Racing Szene. Geben wir Gas...

Frühling und sonst so?

Willkommen 2010. Ups, ja äh also... ein bisschen ist es wohl schon her, dass ich hier was geschrieben habe, aber einer meiner Vorsätze (oh Gott, wie oldschool) war tatsächlich, dass ich mich wieder mal um mein Blog kümmern wollte. Hier hat sich ja schon überall Staub in den Ecken angesetzt usw.

1. Wie lange ist denn bitte schön MJ jetzt schon tot? Und dann wurde auch sowas von ohne Ende Geld mit seinen Sachen gemacht. Unglaublich. Klar, ich bin seit meiner Teenie Zeit großer MJ Fan und werde das wohl auch immer bleiben. Den This is It Film hab ich mir trotzdem und gerade deshalb nicht im Kino gegeben. Den gibt's dann mal auf DVD oder Blue Ray demnächst.

2. Ich bin tatsächlich voll und ganz ein google Evangelist geworden. Hätte ich wohl auch nie gedacht, aber ich find es cool, die ganzen verknüpften Features nutzen zu können. E-Mail aufm Rechner vorbereiten und dann einfach vom Handy unterwegs abschicken? Ohne noch extra Dateien hin und her zu schieben? Großartig. Und wenn ich tatsächlich mal ein böser Junge sein will, und nicht gefunden werden möchte... Na dann macht man das Handy eben aus (gilt auch für entspannende Wochenenden, Urlaube oder oder oder)

3. Ich bin definitv kein eSportler mehr. Klar, ich verfolge die Szene noch aus der Entfernung, aber hey, Games sind genau so im Wandel wie die komplette Webnutzung. Spiele werden in Zukunft nicht mehr nur direkt im Sitzen am Rechner oder der Konsole gespielt. Diese eindimensionale Beschäftigung reicht nicht mehr. Hat sich eigentlich irgendwer schon Mal gefragt, warum im eSport immer noch Röhrenmonitore genutzt werden und die meisten Preisgelder auf Technologien fast aus dem letzten Jahrtausend ausgespielt werden (SC, WC3, CS...)? Und das will aktuell, inovativ und neu sein? Da sind die Bobs von Andre Lange und Co weitaus aktueller.

Was bleibt? Was bleibt ist Leben! Frühling in ZwanzigZehn, einem Jahr in dem den Schaffenden und Kreativen alle Tore offen stehen. Ich werde durch die sich öffnenden Türen hindurchgehen und mich nicht von ein paar Kleinigkeiten abschrecken lassen. Haut rein!

Is freedom of information killing democracy?

Due to the recent happenings in the world, I like to come up with that question: Will the freedom of information which the internet provides us destroy the given world order? Will it even get us to some sort of anarchy? 

Look at the situation in Iran: The governing body is trying a lot to censor the internet, to close down the connections to the world, but the internet is grown already way over their heads. And the people is organizing now to demonstrate against the rulers. I like to shout to them: "Good Luck, freedom of speech!"

Look at chinese try to block porn and stuff, which terribly went wrong. Again the net is too big, too many PCs all around too many ways to get online and get the news from all over the world. The installation of this blocking tool turned out to be a total PR disaster! The people of china is waking up too...

Even in the little stories you find a lot of anarchy: Check out the latest flahmob party at sylt. Organized by instance and a guy who just did a group on a social network and said: Lets party at sylt... The governing body, the burocracy, the police were overextended by that situation and it went out of hand.

Soo, where will this lead us? The governing bodies all over the world have underestimated the networking power of the internet so far. There wont be a lot of time, until we will see some kind of "united states of facebook" with the help of google... People want to be connected, they want to get their own information and they stand up to it! And the whole computer technology is now grown up! World, here we come and when we take over, this will be an all knowing happy place! Lets roll... (ok, those last two sentences are bit too much, but I just felt like ;) )

ruptured ligaments...

... are a pain in the ass. Damn it! Well, after about ten days with this injury it is really getting on my nerves. I hate it. I cant really walk, I cant really sit etc. On the other hand: Just another 5 weeks to go.

On the other hand, I am in the nice situation to feel pain which Achmed the dead terrorist never could feel, as he just doesnt have ligaments. So this shows once more, how important all your senses are to feel alive. Even if it is pain, sorrow or any other "bad" feeling you have. It shows you, you are alive! So now get on, don't whine if you feel pain, enjoy the cheese to it and go on! The Future is just around the corner and some pain will be gone the moment, you step around that corner. Now get back to your work, family or whatever and especially keep an eye on the iranian vote this weekend. I feel another change might be coming!

Changes...

... in your life and in your virtual life are always strange. Last week basically my whole worklife changed, without me changing my office. On the other hand, the new challenges I see now right before me, are really really great to attack. Out of (almost) nowhere comes a change to your life, you accept it, take the challenge and dive in.

This sort of behaviour kind of reminds me of an old mogul slope in some winter holidays back in my school days. Presented to me as a terrible, unsolvable challenge by my ski-teacher, I jumped into it with the words "No Risk, No Fun!".... I crashed, I failed, I fell a lot of times. But in the end, I succeeded, I wrestled the slope down, I was the king of the hill ;)

Definitely from that moment on, I use to say "no risk, no fun" to almost every problem, every challenge in my way. And that is actually the way to go: Take the risks, and you will succeed in the end. I will take this new challenges now, will work through very cool projects, do new webstuff and in the end... In the end I will succeed.

Hmm, maybe I have to change something on the blog here too. Will see.
